Sorry - what a cliche!!
Humankind is gregarious in nature. Of all the animals, humans are the only kind to be blessed with the gift of speech, which differentiates us from the rest of the species. The ability to talk, to express ideas, emotions, etc. have been bestowed upon mankind to make appropriate use of it. How far have we succeeded in it? Today, the conversation that happens between two or more individuals has become futile. As the world progresses, humans have lost the mental ability to think literally before you speak. We cannot hold our tongue in our mouths anymore, and before we realize, its lashing at others. A normal conversation today is full of clichés and puns, making it arduous to interpret the message. Usage of polysemous words has become a fashion today. The gains and success of it, if analyzed and measured would sure be degrading.
A cliché(from French, stereotype) is a phrase or expression, or the idea expressed by it, that has been overused to the point of losing its intended force or novelty, especially where the same expression was at one time distinctively forceful or novel. By extension "Cliché" applies also to almost any situations, subjects, characterizations, or objects that have similarly become overly familiar or commonplace. -courtesy google. One of the clichéd-word today that people use daily in their life is "Sorry". The word 'sorry', whoever invented it, would have thought of it this way(happened to come across this while googling).
S - sincerely
O - offering apology
R - right from my heart
R - realizing my mistake & truly apologizing to
Y - you, with a promise to try not to commit that mistake again
Sorry, seems to have completely lost its purpose today. People use sorry so often, that it has become ambiguous.
Sir Elton John, a famous English singer-songwriter, composer, pianist and occasional actor had produced a song 'sorry seems to be the hardest word. Well, it certainly doesn't seem so in today's mechanical life. Sorry has become a very common word and people tend to use it like a mantra which is chanted often to get to rid of your sins, without knowing its true meaning, and only to alleviate the situation.
The word 'sorry' has become so clichéd that people commit all sorts of crimes and offences and when confronted 'sorry' is the word repeated without any remorse. Just by saying a 'sorry' can all the pain and sufferings be taken back? Can a dead person be brought back??It is easy for people to condemn and criticize the irrational behavior of others, but it is not easy for people to be truly sorry and stand by it. Sorry has a different meaning to every individual. It is used like a commodity which is available in abundance.

When you lose someone or something, you realize their value, is a common quote used in our day-today life. Similarly, if the word 'sorry' is taken away, erased from the English dictionary and from our conversations, ever wondered what would replace it which will have the same powerful meaning .It's a food for thought...
Refrain saying sorry when you don’t mean it.
